Tong-Il Moo-Do Demonstration at Tsuchiura New Training Center
in Japan
In April 13, 2003, the TIMD Demonstration was held during the Opening Ceremony of Tsuchiura New Training Center and Opening Ceremony of the STF Workshop inviting the leaders of Family Federation of World Peace in Japan.

Those who enjoyed and got excited most by this Demonstration were these youth. Already Tong Il Moo Do classes have been offered for them during the Workshop there from 7:00 to 7:30 am every morning and from 2:00 to 3:30 pm every other day since April. 8. They have been so exited about learning TIMD that they rush to the dojang earlier before the class starts. More than half of them are girls, and they love TIMD so much especially self-defense with the power of “Ki”.

The Demonstration lasted about 30 minutes. The MC was Aya Ishida, the student of Tokyo Univ. and holds green belt in TIMD, the first degree Black belt in Judo.

During the foot work of self-defense performed by 6 of us with the music, she introduced Dr. Moon as the Inspirator, and Dr. Seuk as the founder and explained the meaning and the purpose of TIMD, and the need for training the Japanese youth to srength their spirits and bodies through TIMD. One of the performer, Masakimi Matsuzaki who is one of the participants of STF Workshop and had practiced TIMD only for 5 days, surprised the audience. It was followed by another foot work which was the combination of Hadan and Sandan Hejyong Kongbang.

The performers were:

Tatekimi Matsuzaki- The first degree Black belt of TIMD, former practitioner of Kyokushin Karate, student of Keio Univ.
Keiji Yoshida- The first degree Black belt of TIMD, and of Shoto-kan Karate, student of Keio Univ.
Issei Tomita- The first degree Black belt of TIMD and of Karate, student of Meijyo Univ.
Takuya Wakizono- Blue belt of TIMD

During their performance of formation stage of One Step Sparring, young audience applauded them especially for their dynamic throwing techniques.

Aya Ishida, the black belt holder of Judo, also showed the magnificient throwing techniques which attracted the audience.

Tatekimi Matsuzaki who takes Aiki-do class in his Univ.and has been studying “Ki” showed self-defense techniques with “Ki” energy. His smooth, flowing movement brought a great excitement. The perfection stage One step sparring was introduced by master Hoshiko. He showed the combination of punch, kick, throw, choke, and lock. Whenever he showed the jumping kicks, they enjoyed.

The powerful semi-full contact free sparring with “Super safe(head gear)” and chest guard was done by T. Matsuzaki and K. Yoshida hitting their faces each other.

Master Hoshiko performed Wang Kwon Eui Bon with the music, “The First Coronation” using all kinds of circular movements and dynamic jumping fall and kicks.

K. Yoshida showed the special self-defense techniques against 3 people. He performed this during Mr.?Miss University Beauty Pageant in 2001, and he became Mr. University! The last one was the martial ballet, “Eye of Tiger”. T. Matsuzaki, in spite of the limited time of practice, showed the good coordination with Master Hoshiko.

The audience was so excited that they were clapping their hands during this performance.

Everyone, especially the youth had truly enjoyed the demonstration and after that, the performers were surrounded by the excited youth and even asked for signing their names.

TIMD practitioners have shown their own specialties and abilities, and given them the great hope and the message what they could do through the training of their mind and body. We will continue to teach them TIMD with the great hope and expectation for them to embody Tong Il Moo “Do” as a way of life.

Hoshiko Takamitsu
President of TIMD Federation of Japan
