The 5th Moldova TIMD Championship took place on February 23rd, 2008, in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. For the first time we have invited participants from Tae Kwon-do ITF Federation. The championship consisted of two compartments: sparring and forms. A total number of 27 participants have participated: 19 of them – TIMD members and 8 – Tae Kwon-do members. Tae Kwon-do has brought black belts, national, international and world champions. All the participants have shown a high technical level. Tae Kwon-do participants have shown a very high level of preparation, hence they’ve met a severe resistance from TIMD colored belts. They said later that TIMD technique is pretty similar to Tae Kwon-do, but TIMD is much stronger when fighting on the ground. As a president of TIMD I felt very proud of TIMD members and I could see a big TIMD potential not only in theory, but most of all practical.
